Rebecca Campbell, Bill Milligan and John Lynch announced their intention to jointly run for trustee seats during the upcoming 2012 Bayport-Blue Point Board of Education Election.
If elected, they hope to leverage their collective professional experience in the disciplines of law, technology and finance to better serve the Bayport-Blue Point community and promote academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, transparency, accountability and open communication within our school district.
Rebecca Campbell, Law
Rebecca has a bachelor’s degree in economics from The College of William & Mary, a master’s degree from the London School of Economics, and a law degree from The University of Virginia School of Law, where she was an editor of the law review. Rebecca is an attorney with a Manhattan law firm, a three-year member of the BBP Budget Advisory Committee, and a founding member and board member of the BBP Community Tennis Association. Rebecca and her husband Todd have five children, one who attends Tulane University and four who currently attend BBP schools.
Bill Milligan, Technology
Bill is a solutions architect with 22 years of experience working both domestically and internationally for tech industry bellwethers such as Cisco Systems and Hewlett Packard. He is a United States Army veteran who served in Germany during the Cold War. Last fall, Bill founded BBP-Action.org, a website where videos of our Bayport-Blue Point Board of Education and budget meetings may be viewed online. Additionally, residents have access to current articles and research on education issues that affect our community. Bill and his wife Susan have two daughters who attend Academy Street Elementary School.
John has a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Marist College and an MBA from C.W. Post L.I.U. He served as an officer in the United States Army during Vietnam and is semi-retired after a long career in finance and operations. John is a trustee and member of the Finance Committee at Our Lady of the Snow R.C. Church and has served on the BBP Budget Advisory Committee for four years, including the last two years as chairman. John and his wife Sue have three adult children who graduated from BBP schools.
